Scientist
Reports to project manager or top management
- Design, coordinate and manage a wide
variety of experiments in diverse biological areas.
- Expected to maintain project goals
and deadlines.
- May manage one or more Research Associates
including resolving or working with Project Manager or HR Manager
to resolve personnel issues and completing and participating
in performance reviews.
- Independently conceive, initiate
and gain acceptance for new ideas and projects.
- Investigate, create and develop new
methods and technologies when necessary.
- Provide guidance to (lower level)
team members.
- Actively contribute to discussions
regarding scientific goals and strategies via interaction at
Scientist Meetings.
- Interview and provide written recommendations
for potential AVC science candidates to management.
- Maintain lab notebook and present
results at Company and Scientist meetings.
- Responsible for management and completion
of specific lab duties.
- Coordinate projects and scientists
on specific projects.
- Fosters team environment.
- Write internal and external grants.
Requirements
- Requires a Ph.D. in their field of
specialty.
- Has proven track record in industry
or academic research including publications, etc.
- Familiar with a variety of commonly
used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular
field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish goals.
- A wide degree of creativity and the
ability to design and execute research programs is expected.
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills.
- Possess solid leadership skills.
