Peter S. Lu, M.D., Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Lu discovered the role of PDZ proteins in the immune system as a
researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Stanford
University, where he also directed the Stanford Psoriasis Treatment
Center. He founded Arbor Vita Corporation in May 1998.
J. David Garman, Ph.D., Associate Director, Business Development
Dr. Garman is a scientist at Arbor Vita currently working on patent
development and business development. Prior to joining Arbor Vita in
1999, Dr. Garman conducted academic research in the laboratories of
Dr. David Clayton and Dr. Lucille Shapiro at Stanford University and
Dr. Elizabeth Jones at Carnegie Mellon University.
Peter H. Kilner, Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Kilner joined Arbor Vita in April 2002. Mr. Kilner spent 18 years
in business development, specializing in strategic partnering, at
Catalytica. For the past 6 years, Mr. Kilner started-up and managed a
subsidiary business for the manufacture of catalysts for the
pharmaceutical and polyolefin industries.
Ken Mendoza, IT, Bioinformatics
Mr. Mendoza joined Arbor Vita in 2001. He is a software engineer
specializing in data automation and bioinformatics and is the
developer of the software components of Arbor Vita's in silico high
throughput drug discovery tool, the Predictive Bio-Simulator.
Johannes G. Schweizer, Ph.D.
Dr. Schweizer is a molecular geneticist trained at Institute Pasteur
and Stanford University who joined Arbor Vita as a Scientist in 1999.
Dr. Schweizer manages the HPV program.
Chamorro Somoza, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Somoza is an immunologist who joined Arbor Vita as a Scientist in
2000. Dr. Somoza was trained at University of Madrid and Oxford
University, and did post-doctoral work at the DNAX Research Institute.
She is further developing Arbor Vita’s HPV Program.
