NA-1 Stroke Therapeutic

NA-1 binds to a PDZ protein and disrupts the cell signaling pathway which initiates and continues cell death after a stroke. In results from studies in laboratory rats, NA-1 has been found to reduce the brain damage that occurs during a stroke by as much as 80%. In partnership with another biotech company, a Phase I clinical trial is planned for mid-2006.
